Scale
fingering charts are for students who have progressed beyond
the class song selections and are ready to apply the major scale
pattern of whole and half steps to fingering patterns on the
keyboard.
Prerequisite
to learning the scales are:
1) Knowing
the pattern of whole and half steps that make a major scale. Lesson

2) An
understanding of how sharps and flats are used to lower or raise
a pitch.
3) The
use of sharps and flats in the Key Signature.
Making the charts:
1) Use the same color construction paper
as the color of the chart.
2) Paste the left hand fingering on one side of the construction paper,
and the right hand fingering on the opposite side.
3) Place the charts in letter trays, or file folders in the order to
be played, C, G, D, F.
